While the meme’s message is somewhat true, the bigger picture here is that we need to look at memes as a convenient tool for getting more engagement from your audience. Given their funny nature and potential reference to popular media, memes can be a good source of traffic because people consider them funny – which implies, of course, that it’s going to be shared more than your average, off-the-mill article. It also helps you find potential members of your audience who you’ve not reached with your current marketing strategies.

In any case, people go to the Internet and social networks mostly to have fun and chill. Memes help them achieve that, which makes you a potential go-to guy for things that are relevant AND fun. Wouldn’t want to look like a straight-cut marketer who doesn’t have a sense of humor now, do we?
