Do you know the best kept secret of selling products? It’s not to sell. You may say, “what are you talking about?” But yes, people don’t like being sold to, but they love to buy. So where does this leads you?
Selling a product won’t work. What you can do is provide the value of a product. Instead of telling people, “you need to buy this, because…” inform them about the benefits and advantages of having such a product. Offer them the information and they will decide for themselves that they need the product. It’s almost the same with what Larry Weber said, “…as you’ve noticed, people don’t want to be sold. What people do want is news and information about the things they care about.”
Our audience wants to be in the loop. They want relevant information. This is why blogs are important in digital marketing. Blogs humanize a brand; therefore, relating more to people. They rely on blogs to get real-life and unbiased information. A common blog topic is a product review.
If you want your audience to listen to you, find out what they need and what they are interested in. Then, offer them with information about those things. Don’t ever sell; simply provide valuable and relevant information. Buying comes naturally.
