how to get customers online

Once you have set up your website, it’s time to find your target followers and customers.

Initially, you would need to define your target market. Demographics and buying habits are not just what you must consider when defining your target client. You also need to know who they are, meaning their profile.

Here are some of the questions you can ask when defining who your target customers are.

For a more concrete example, take this blog, which targets entrepreneurs who want to improve their businesses by utilizing websites, blogs, and social media platforms. These people can be male or female of various age groups. In a nutshell, this is the profile of who my clients are.

Once you have figured this out, it’s time to seek what your customer would need so you know what you can provide them. Put yourself in the shoes of your target readers. What do you need from you?

You must address their needs, wants, aspirations and even their pains. What do they need? What are the things they are having challenges on?
Why all these questions? Because you need to make a connection with your readers. Since you are communicating through the means of technology, you need to make it feel more personal.

Again, basing it from my blog. My readers need information on utilizing Internet based resources and applying them to their businesses. Hence, I not only give tips and how-to’s on the technicality of how online business works, I also provide them with motivational entries to boost their spirit and inspire them to continue making things happen.

This is the next step; this is how you capture their interest of your readers. You engage them by continually providing VALUABLE FREE content whether they are in the forms of articles, videos, etc. The more you engage them with these valuable content, the more they trust you. There is no need for outright sales pitch when it comes to getting clients online. Because people don’t like the idea of being sold something. You would need to earn, not get, their trust first, this is why you SHARE valuable contents for FREE.

And once they have regarded you as an authority, and you have earned their trust, it is only then can you do the final step of closing a sale.
So go ahead and invest in providing valuable content to your website and interacting with your readers through social media and blogs. Soon, you would convert your readers into loyal customers.
