These days, we have so many ways and medium to connect that sharing information becomes so easy. Meanwhile, what and how we connect can dictate the amount of influence we have on people. A recommendation can make us while an opinion can break us.
With all the information available online, we sometimes don’t know which ones are true or which are just plain hoax. How do we filter them? We choose our sources. We believe people we know rather than strangers. According to Malorie Lucich, “People share, read, and generally engage more with any type of content when it’s surfaced through friends and people they know and trust.”
People connect the most with those they have relationships with. It’s also the amount of trust we give to the other person that makes the difference. Out of all the information we hear, we only listen to those that are relevant and which came from a trusted source. People will naturally share. The message will be passed one way or another, that’s why it’s important not to burn any bridges.
Sharing stories and ideas is how we connect and engage. In order to use this in our businesses, we need to tap people who are also relevant in our businesses. Engage people in your industry to effectively get your message across. But most importantly, keep sharing and just keep engaging.
