The best way to improve is to take time and assess what works, what didn’t work, and what could work better.

When it comes to a business, it is the same thing. The main difference is we have followers and customers who will give us feedbacks. In order to provide better services and products, we need to listen to those feedbacks and consider them when making changes. Doc Searls and David Weinberger said, “By listening, marketing will re-learn how to talk.”

Marketing is a big part of any kind of business, whether offline or online. The rules in marketing change as our customers’ attitude and perception change. To perfect a marketing technique means to keep learning and experimenting. Just like what the quote above says, we need to listen in order to re-learn how to talk to our target audience. Only then will we be able to really grab our customers’ attentions. Once we grab their attention, we can then talk to them more and find more ways to offer better services and products that will cater to their needs.

Just when you think you know everything, that’s when you get most surprised. Chances are an incident or two will prove that there will always be room for improvements and to learn new things. And the first step is to listen. So take time, engage with your audience, and find out how else you can help them.
