There are so many blogs these days it can be hard to compete. But fact is, readers will always look for you once you provide them with what they want, which is great content.
Brian Clark believes we shouldn’t “focus on having a great blog. Focus on producing a blog that’s great for your readers.”
Remember, your blog is your product and your brand; while your readers are your clients. Don’t get me wrong you are not selling your blog to your readers, instead your blog must appeal to your readers. They need to find a sense of connection to your blog. How will you achieve that?
A blog must contain relevant, valuable content. Let’s dissect that statement shall we? Relevant means it must be timely and is connected to what your blog is about. For example, my blog aims to help entrepreneurs with their online businesses and it will be irrelevant if I suddenly write something about wedding planning, right?
Now, let’s talk about valuable content. Value concentrates on how your content will help your readers. Will they learn something regarding what you write? Value essentially answers the questions, “what is it to them?” “So what now?” That is how you are able to reach and connect to your readers.
You might as well babble your way into a topic and yet your readers would feel that they didn’t gain anything from your blog. It is best to look after your readers and cater to their needs.
A blog will be great on it’s own once you start focusing on making it great for your readers. So stop focusing on making intricate blog designs and start providing what your readers need.
